Well it's been a lot of fun and I continue to thin the doe herd down. In fact, had a new buck on camera just this last week that I haven't seen all year. It appears it is the year of the gnarly buck for me. I'm more excited about getting him than I am about getting a more symmetrical hombre. Originally I was going to spend some time in my new stand location where I saw 6 doe but I noticed a new deer trail that wasn't there a month ago. Set up a camera there and boom, there's this guy. Let's get him, he'll look real nice next to the irregular buck I took in October. I mean anyone can down a symmetrical buck....
Here's a sweet little post from my father. He was in the upper-lower of Michigan. Been hunting the same spot on the edge of a huge swamp for 20+yrs. It's where I grew up hunting. Check out what he found on his trail cam one morning. A pretty darn big boy and in Michigan no less. Didn't have tags for it and this bruiser looks like he might be up there in his years. Darn cool:
